End user licence agreement
Last updated 27 October 2026
This agreement is between you and Ember Audio Labs ("we", "us") and covers Ember Clip and any other software we distribute (the "Software"). By installing or using the Software you accept it.
1. Licence
The Software is licensed, not sold. When you buy a licence we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual right to install and use the Software on up to two computers at a time that you own or control. During the trial period you may use it for evaluation on any number of computers.
2. Your music is yours
You may use the Software to create, mix and master audio for any purpose, including commercial releases. We claim no rights in anything you make with it, and no credit is required.
3. Restrictions
You may not:
- share, sell, rent or publish your licence key, or let others use it;
- copy or distribute the Software, except for your own backups;
- remove, bypass or disable the licence check, or distribute tools or modified copies that do so;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction.
4. Activation
Activating sends your licence key and an anonymous identifier of the computer to our server. The Software checks the licence about once a month when online. We may disable a licence key that was refunded, charged back, or shared in breach of this agreement.
5. Transfer
Licences are personal. If you want to transfer a licence to someone else, email us first; we will move it if the original owner confirms.
6. Updates
Your licence includes updates within the same major version. Updates are covered by this agreement as it stands when they are released.
7. Third-party components
The Software is built with the JUCE framework and the Monocypher library, used under their respective licences.
8. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is". We do our best to make it reliable, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors or that it will suit every system. Always keep backups of your projects.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost data, lost profits or damage to equipment, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.
10. Termination
This licence ends automatically if you break it. When it ends you must stop using the Software and delete your copies.
11. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Pakistan, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
